I founded the non-profit Children's Media Lab, collaborating with San Francisco Bay Area school districts, teachers and television production volunteers. Over thirteen years, we developed and produced a participatory TV program called TAKE 2. Children, ages eleven to fourteen, created and dramatized their own imaginative TV stories, as well as contributing their own video clips and ideas via the internet.

Program topics addressed psycho-social issues which the young people chose and explored, using the five steps of our problem solving curriculum:

      1: What is the problem?

      2: Find out more information.

3: Look at the problem in a different way.

4: Come up with wild ideas. Brainstorm.

5: Evaluate. What will actually work?

The curriculum also contained instructions for videotaping a chosen social issue.

We produced over 200 programs in local cable television studios.

A professionally produced TAKE 2 program, aired on the San Jose PBS station and won an award in the 1994 San Francisco International Film Festival.
